Goal

Heritage Christian College Foundation is assisting the HCC Council with its effort to raise needed funding for new facilities.

In 2020, the goal is moderately stated! We need to raise $50,000 to provide infrastructure for the new departments as they get ready for students. In 2021 – 2023, the needs are more significant. A current expansion is in process and is already funded (an $800,000 building of classrooms, offices and meeting rooms).

The next major challenge which looms is a multi-purpose building which has emerged as the next hurdle and which needs to be built in 2021-2022. The Ghanaian National Accreditation Board & The Minister of Education have notified HCC that such a structure is mandatory if we are to continue increasing enrollment.

Increasing enrollment is essential for several reasons, but most importantly because it allows HCC to have greater impact. The demand for Christian education which produced manifest difference like that being produced at HCC is higher than we can meet at present. Secondly, the essential goal of sustainable operations requires that HCC attain a student headcount of just over 1,000. HCC currently has approximately 440 students. We cannot attain such a headcount without facility growth.

This new building will cost a total of $2.6M. Yes, it can be built in phases. Even so, the first floor will cost $1M. The subsequent 3 floors are essentially equal in cost.

How you can help

Make an investment that will facilitate the teaching and preparation of future church leaders, young people who will do great work in God’s Kingdom.

Consider honoring someone by naming all or parts of the facility.

Raising this type of funding is difficult because you can’t put a face or a name on those who you help. It is also frustrating that we need “brick and mortar” to do the job. However, we do! Yes, we have developed online and distance learning courses but even so, we need these facilities.

Visualizing all the students who will enter and exit these campus facilities over the next few years helps us realize the significance. Literally, 450 – 1000 students will be impacted everyday in these building. What a selfless gift! A gift that is given with faith and understanding that God’s workers do need good tools and, in this case, those tools include facilities.

Join us in making this happen!

Summary

HCC is one of the most technologically advanced universities in the world! All textbooks are e-books, every student must have a laptop and we help them attain them. We are writing courses that can be delivered online and in distance modalities. We get it! Facilities are not the default answer, but we cannot avoid the need either.

Even if all courses were delivered online, we’d still need offices and video conference lecture rooms. In the context of Africa and its infrastructure deficiencies we must also face the reality of limitations. Building are still essential, and we are not willing to sacrifice multiple generations of students because we don’t want buildings. In fact, Ghana and Africa need us to make progress now or they will never attain an infrastructure in their economies that provides opportunities.
