Timothy AwukuIN HIS WORDS – TIMOTHY AWUKU

‘I grew up in Detsawome, a part of the Volta Region in Ghana, where I lived with my parents and four siblings. Growing up, my family struggled with bills but my parents still made it a priority that my siblings and I attended school; the burden stretched them financially. After my Senior High School final exams, my test results were not released because we still owed money. I almost gave up pursuing tertiary education to go find a low-class job to do. Fortunately, I met people who were willing to help me pursue tertiary education and these people
taught me never to give up on education, and to continue to strive to attain my educational goals.

Receiving a scholarship to Heritage Christian College has opened doors to opportunities that my parents could not open on their own; and I can now attend a university, a very unique university, HCC. Getting a scholarship has helped me focus on my education and in particular it has helped me focus on my upcoming examinations to be an Information Security Expert. The scholarship has also relieved me of stress for paying some of my tuition, as well as relieving my guardians of helping with my tuition, accommodation, and food.

I would like to establish an IT business to help employ more HCC students and help them receive financial aid so they can pursue their life goals. I love the book Rich Dad-Poor Dad, as it has showed me how situations change and that it is okay to take risks to be a successful entrepreneur. I am so grateful for your support, and I appreciate what Heritage Christian College Foundation is doing. I pray that God may continue to bless you and your hard work on my behalf and that of my fellow students here at Heritage Christian College.’
